Jordan Shlain, MD

Founder & Chairman of Private Medical

3

I am a physician, entrepreneur, and systems thinker driven by one central question: how can we bring more humanity, intelligence, and foresight into health and medicine?

As the Founder & Chairman of Private Medical, I’ve spent more than two decades building the best in class version of concierge medicine—a full-service medical practice designed to help families live longer, healthier, more vibrant lives. Our focus is on prevention, longevity, and evidence-based care delivered with empathy across New York, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and beyond.

My career has spanned founding and scaling companies at the intersection of healthcare and technology (HealthLoop, acquired by GetWell), advising world-class research institutions (Buck Institute for Research on Aging, Digital Therapeutics Alliance, Maven Clinic, Pear Bio), and shaping policy through public service (Health Commissioner for the City & County of San Francisco).

I believe food is medicine—which led me to co-found Eat REAL, a nonprofit reimagining school food systems to nourish children and regenerate the planet. I’ve also invested deeply in education, public health, digital wellness, and hospitality-informed healthcare through board roles and advisory work with organizations like Equinox, NYU Tisch Center of Hospitality, and the American Medical Association.

My work has been featured on CNBC, at the Atlantic Meets the Pacific, and at institutions ranging from UCSF to AARP to the Exponential Medicine conference. Whether speaking on longevity, digital health, or the philosophy of medicine, I strive to challenge assumptions and bridge research with clinical practice.
My hobbies are linguistics, quantum physics, neuroscience, anthropology, music, social science and humanity.

Not afraid to be wrong if it moves the ball forward. Working on solving social problems; not predicting them. Interested in getting it right; not being right.

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
