Paolo Pio is a Silicon Valley Software Engineer turned tech executive turned venture capitalist driving innovation in health and wellness. He is the Co-Founder and General Partner of Exceptional Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in London focused on helping people live longer, healthier, and happier lives - maximising the Joyspan®. Exceptional Ventures has a diverse portfolio of 40 startups and aims to lead the health and wellness revolution globally.

Before founding Exceptional Ventures, Paolo served as the Managing Director for Europe at Joyance Partners, where he pioneered the expansion of US-based VC operations and invested in 25+ startups focused on health and happiness. His efforts were recognised by Pitchbook and TechCrunch, and contributed to fostering a vibrant community of entrepreneurs in the space.Paolo began his career at Cisco, leading global product innovation and business development initiatives. Paolo is a certified fitness instructor and co-founded Urban Tribe, a fitness bootcamp in London and Dubai.

Paolo graduated Summa Cum Laude from his MS Engineering in Politecnico di Torino, and received his Executive MBA from London Business School where he won the AQR award for academic excellence in asset management.
