Matt is relentless. He has spent the last 40 years committing his time, energy and capital to a variety of endeavours focused on improving the lives of people around the world.
At 18 years old Matt was at Princeton, studying Chemistry and Physics, while dreaming of Nobel Prizes.
At almost 60 years old Matt is Executive Chairman and co-founder of Exceptional Ventures a a London-based business with a mission to help as many people around the globe live longer, healthier, and happier lives - maximising what we call Joyspan®. At EV’s core is a science-driven early stage Venture Capital firm focused on investing in the very best early stage companies driving the current revolution in human health. EV’s focus is on attracting and supporting the very best founders and scientists, and helping them build the most commercial and impactful businesses to drive the greatest possible change. EV’s values, experience, and ways of working together with our companies make it unique in the VC world.

Matt has made over 400 angel investments.
Matt has advised and coached dozen of entrepreneurs and CEOs.
Matt has chaired numerous boards ranging from corporate, to charitable, to third sector and the arts.
Matt has spoken regularly on entrepreneurship and the health care revolution.
As a result, Matt has unusually broad experience in strategy development, business planning, brand and marketing, organisational design and culture, executive coaching and leadership, and has worked with companies from Fintech to consumer to energy to health and beyond, at all stages of maturity.
